Most alcoholic drinks contain a substance known as ethanol, which is most commonly known as alcohol, but in chemistry terms, alcohol can refer to an entire group of chemical compounds.

Most countries produce alcoholic drinks in a large abundance, but many nations choose to regulate the entire process (production, sale, consumption). The main stipulation here is the legal drinking age in many countries, as it varies widely, depending on which country you’re in at the time. The legal drinking ages can be as low as 16 years of age in some countries, whereas in others it can be as high as 21 years of age before you can legally purchase alcohol. In most European countries and cultures, alcohol is an integral part of life, with many people drinking alcohol at home with friends and family. As well as this, the creation of alcohol is popular in many other countries and cultures all over the world. Drinking alcohol is deemed to be a very important part of social events in most modern (and some ancient) societies, as it can be an important aspect of each country’s native culture.
